Focus Your Telescope

Are you unsure about an unexpected view of an object through your telescope? Chances are it's just out focus.

If the view through your telescope looks similar to the images below, it means you are out of focus and need to turn the focuser knobs on your telescope until stars are small points, and planets look as they should.

Generally a target is in focus when it is as small as possible.
